What Actually Changes the Price?

Which part failed

A broken spring, a bad opener, a snapped cable, and a misaligned sensor all cost different amounts to fix, since the parts and labor time are different for each.

Door size and weight

A wider or heavier door needs a stronger, more expensive spring or opener, and a 10 pound difference in door weight can call for an entirely different spring size.

Standard vs high cycle springs

If you open your garage door many times a day, a high cycle spring, rated for 30,000 or more cycles instead of the standard 10,000, costs more up front but lasts significantly longer.

Same-day or emergency timing

We do not charge extra just for showing up the same day. If a repair genuinely requires after-hours work, we tell you that cost before we start, never as a surprise on the invoice.

Is It Cheaper to Repair or Replace?

If only one part has failed and the door is otherwise in good shape, repair is almost always the faster and cheaper choice. Replacement starts to make more financial sense once a door is older than 15 years, has several parts failing at the same time, or is badly rusted or warped. We will tell you honestly which situation you are in, we do not push a new door on someone who just needs a spring.

Cost Questions We Get Asked A Lot

Do you charge a trip fee just to look at my door?

Our service call includes a full inspection and diagnosis, completely free. If you approve the repair, that fee is simply part of the total, not an extra charge on top.

Will my homeowners insurance cover a broken garage door?

Usually only if the damage came from a covered event, like a storm or a vehicle impact, not normal wear and tear like a worn out spring. Check with your insurance provider directly for your specific policy.

How do I know if a quote is fair?

Ask what part failed, why that part costs what it does, and get it in writing before work starts. A company that will not explain the price, or that raises it once a technician is already at your house, is a company to walk away from.

Why do some companies advertise a much lower price?

A very low advertised price is sometimes a lure, with the real price appearing once a technician is already inside your garage. Ask for the full price in writing before agreeing to anything.
